Mens Open 4 Man Team

The winners of the event was a team from Brayton lead by A Chisnall who had 85 beating another team from Brayton lead by C Harrison on a count back, third place went to a team from Maryport which included the Captain Mr E Varah,H Varah, B Thwaites and R Thwaites.

Junior Section

The Junior Section of Maryport Golf Club held its inaugural "Strolling4Shoes" Trophy Competition last Thursday.This took the form of an Adult/Junior Stableford Competition in which each Junior played with an Adult member with both their scores counting.
The tournament was most generously sponsored by Mr Andrew Marshall of "Strolling4Shoes". As well as the handsome trophy, there were prizes worth over £300, each Junior received a "goody bag" containing all sorts of delights, and a free meal.
The winners were Grant Murdy and Club Treasurer Bruce Bedford with a very respectable 64 points in the blustery conditions, Runner-up were Connor Edwards and Senior Vice-Captain Joe Goulding, best females prize went to Rachel McSerry and Wendy Wright, and the nearest the pin to Gordon Shaw who promptly donated his prize to his Junior partner, Ethan Weir.
The day was a great success, and next year may well be an Open event.

Ladies Mail On Sunday

The Ladies team played Cockermouth at Maryport the score was Maryport won 4 and 1/2 one, they will play Workington away in the next round.
